Crowdfunder update

It’s happening… we’re releasing an album!

We put our faith in you – the Siskin community – and you not only came through, you made it easy! We are stunned by your generosity and deeply moved by your appreciation for the music we’re making.

The way we make a living as musicians is for folks to buy our stuff! So, if you’d like to support music at the grassroots level and know your money isn’t disappearing off into profit margins of the tech companies, by preordering an album or buying merch you are enabling us to keep going as a band and as musicians.

We’ll keep this Crowdfunder open until April 9th, please do continue to support the band in whatever way feels good to you. A preordered album, a tea towel or a donation - we are so grateful for and to you all.

Let’s keep making music!

Wows!

In just 3 days we reached our initial (ambitious) target of £8000 - the minimum we need to finish the production and release of the album. Then in the next two days we reached our £10,000 stretch target - to cover the merch manufacturing and postage costs, allowing us to release Siskin funds set aside for that purpose to employ a more comprehensive PR package for the release.

Thanks to everyone who has donated and pre-ordered, and to Creative Scotland for match funding. We couldn't do this without you!

Crowdfunder

We are Crowdfunding for our second album!

For our first album we were incredibly lucky to receive generous donations and grants to record and produce the record fully funded.

For this album we received funding and used band funds and time to cover the recording stage and are now looking for financial support to cover the mixing, mastering, production and release costs which will come to a minimum of £8000.

Now we are looking to draw on the support of those we know would love to have a new Siskin Green album in the world... you!

This could be as simple as choosing to pre-order the album through this Crowdfunder. That would be a massive help! And if you would like to offer a greater level of support, there are a variety of “reward tiers” available so that we can show our gratitude with some fun Siskin perks!

With Creative Scotland match funding, your support of this Crowdfunder will go even further, with every £1 you donate matched up to £250.

Recording

From November 2025 to January 2026 we’ve been busy recording with Steve Butler in Ferndale Studio, tucked away in the hills of Dumfriesshire. Twelve songs have been lovingly chosen, written and arranged, weaving together threads of spirituality and storytelling.

Close vocal harmony is at the heart of these recordings, accompanied by the evocative folk instrumentation of Jane's percussion, Margaret's banjo, guitar and piano and Suzanne's fiddle.

We are delighted to be joined for some of the arrangements by Amy Duncan on double bass.

Greenbelt!

Greenbelt Festival - we love you.

What a joy to bring our music home to Canopy Stage, where we have such a warm welcome from the brilliant team. Everyone sitting out in the sunshine after days of rain listening so attentively was a moment of the year for us.

Total respect to Andrew and team for organising, writing and putting on the big Sunday morning communion. Being asked to be the musicians was a slightly daunting thought at first, but we took on the challenge and really what a privilege to be part of such a moving mass service of communion with live video link up to Bethlehem.

And meeting so many friendly and enthusiastic Siskin supporters! We can't believe the reception and what the music means to you. We'll make you some more!

Album news

These past months have been a rich creative time together - we've been in Durisdeer recording studio capturing songs, enhancing arrangements and working with Steve Butler to produce a record we are incredibly proud of.

This week we've been intently listening to tiny details as the album finished the mixing and mastering processes. We can't wait to share it with you all. The next few months will be spent getting the CD ready for production with photos, design and lots of behind the scenes admin.

In the meantime we will be building up to the release by putting out a few singles, so keep your eyes peeled and help us spread the word.

Live gigs

We hope you will join us for one (or more) of our summer gigs. The album will be launched at the Edinburgh Fringe event, so book your tickets now and bring some chums to help us celebrate. Playing Greenbelt is a bit of a dream - if you're planning to be there do look us up on the Orchard stage.
